Stakeholder Discussion Topic: LAND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES

LAND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES

A process or discussion should be started to develop subjects of present land management practices. An opportunity to showcase or highlight certain land management techniques that have been beneficial to the environment and the overall land use. Use this as an opportunity to share knowledge of sustainable land use techniques. Provide a question/answer opportunity for community members to learn from people’s successes and failures.

Re: Stakeholder Discussion Topic: LAND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES

I have heard good feedback about the CVI speaker Ryan Gaujot at the Mar.3,2009 stakeholder meeting. His topic is related to both land and water management (natural streambank restoration). We certainly have a number of examples in our headwater streams of not so successful efforts to manage erosion problems. Having a successful example of streambank restoration to point to would be a great help. I was thinking that we could change this topic to land and water management practices.
