George Bell, President
George Bell is president of the Elk Headwaters Watershed Association. He and his wife live in Mingo, WV, with their three children. George enjoys skiing, hunting, and photography. He manages a construction business in his spare time.
Ed Galford, Vice President
Ed Galford is vice president of the Elk Headwaters Watershed Association, and is one its founding members. He is a graduate of the Forestry School at West Virginia University. Ed started working with Snowshoe in 1974 as a snowmaker, and is now employed as Vice President of Operations at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Fishing, hunting, and motorcycling are some of the pastimes enjoyed in the watershed along with working toward responsible stewardship of the communities and environment within the watershed. Ed was born in Pocahontas County and resides in the headwaters of Big Spring Fork with wife Winnie and two daughters, Casey and Greer. Ed is also involved with the Shavers Fork Coalition, a watershed group based out of Elkins, WV.
Tolly Peuleche, Secretary
Tolly Peuleche is secretary of the Elk Headwaters Watershed Association.
Leon W. Brown, Treasurer
Leon W. Brown is treasurer of the Elk Headwaters Watershed Association. He is a bivocational pastor, ordained in West Virginia Baptist Churches Convention of American Baptist Churches, USA, and current pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at Beverly, WV. A graduate of West Virginia University with a BS degree in Forest Resource Management, Leon is currently employed at Beckwith Lumber Company, Inc. as Land Manager. Within the ownership of Beckwith Lumber, about 16,500 acres are within the watershed boundaries. Born and raised in the watershed and having hunted and fished within it, Leon has the desire to protect the watershed for future generations. The purpose of working with the association is to get and keep local control of the watershed and protect the integrity of the same. Leon is involved with other conservation and youth groups and enjoys working to conserve and protect our current natural resources and wants to provide our youth with a healthy respect for our stewardship of nature.
